It's so hard to find pre-made meatballs that don't have bread crumbs or flour in them. As with many other keto dishes, your best bet is to make your own from scratch to guarantee that it's keto. Enter the keto cheesy meatball recipe.
Keto Cheesy Meatball Recipe
Ingredients:
- 350g regular ground beef
- 350g medium ground pork
- 2 tablespoons parsley (fresh if possible)
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup almond flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ cup warm water
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Form into fifteen 2″ meatballs.Bake at 350F for 20 minutes or fry in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Alternatively, you can fry them until cooked through. I'm a fan of doing so in bacon grease which gives them some extra smoky flavour.
Serve with zucchini noodles and keto marinara sauce, or as an ingredient at a keto faux pasta bar dinner. To serve on their own, try baking them each topped with a spoonful of marinara sauce and a slice of mozzerella cheese for a nice appy dish. Or serve them with any of your other favourite keto sauces.
