Keto Hawaiian French Toast Recipe
French Toast Ingredients:
- One loaf of coconut flour flax bread
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup unsweetened coconut milk beverage
- 7oz full-fat canned coconut milk
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Unsalted butter (or homemade vegan butter](https://feednflow.com/blog/post/vegan-butter-keto-low-carb-vegan-dairy-free) for dairy-free).
Topping Ingredients:
- Shape-as-you-like-chocolate made into chunks or raw cacao nibs
- Toasted unsweetened shredded coconut
- Roast macadamia nuts, chopped
- Keto coconut syrup
- Confectioner’s Swerve
- Keto whipped cream (or whipped coconut cream for dairy-free), if desired
Directions:
Cut the bread into thick slices, at least ½" thick, or to your own liking.
Heat a griddle or frying pan to medium heat. Whisk together eggs, coconut milk beverage, coconut milk and seasonings. Dip slices of bread into egg mixture, then cook on griddle for around 1-2 minutes or so on each size, or until nicely golden. Put finished slices into a casserole dish in the oven on the 'warm' setting to keep them warm until you finish cooking all the bread slices.
Arrange French toast slices on a plate. Serve warm, topped with your choice of toppings (see above).
